These are the Target Bolide which are part of Target darts 2020 spring release. Bolide is a word used to describe a bright meteor that explodes in the atmosphere if you are wondering 🙂 There is five models in the range and they are all fitted with the Target SWISS point system hence the SP in the model name. They all have a sandblasting coating in the grooves and are variations of a radial/ring grip design.
The SP04 model I am reviewing has a kind of gentle concave shape, wider at the ends and thin in the middle.
Its a neat looking dart and the grey sandblasting adds a nice contrast to the silvery tungsten.
I am not entirely sure if the sandblasting is meant to have any affect on the grip though, as its in the grooves I cant say I felt it. The grip is only lowish medium but still has a pleasant feel.
I feel this model is probably best suited to middle grippers though. Its comfortable in the fingers holding it in the middle and very nicely balanced.
I would not say is bad with my front grip or even the rear but kind of spiraled through the air for me a little but flew better from the rear than I was expecting, so it could still be worth a look if your a front or rear gripper and take a liking to it.
Quality is fine, its not too complicated a design though but its nice that the price has been kept reasonable considering it has the SWISS points and the sandblasting. I think as a front gripper though one of the other models in the range may suit be better, its a nice range so I am sure there is something to suit all grip types 🙂
