A review of the rather unusual Cuesoul Traj AK8 all in one moulded flights.
Cuesoul have a few flight systems in their range now and the Traj Ak8 is probably one of the more unusual ones. It kind of harkens back to the old style feather flights but in a new way.
There is two shapes at present, one is a kind of diamond shape and the other kind of resembles a oak leaf shape.
There is four colours in the range as can be seen in the image above.
As with a lot of things with darts the flights and stems are often a very personal thing to each player and also determined by the darts you throw too to some degree. But there was a time in the past when feather flights were the main thing so they often had a long flight surface much like these Traj do.
Its really hard to say if one way is or was better than the other, I think feather flights mostly went out of fashion due to their high cost and obviously the poly flight was simpler and much much cheaper.
So its curious as to why Cuesoul have made these as you can see they cost more than normally flights but reading the details that Cuesoul have regarding the Traj Ak8 is sounds like they should be good as you can see here:

Also the line can be guide for cutting broken edge, give you smaller shape flights
Cuesoul have a thin line around the edge of the Traj which reinforces the flight but they say you can also use to cut round and make the flight smaller if you wish, or break off the broken edges so you can use it for longer.
But as to whether it actually makes the flight of the dart more stable and accurate thats really difficult to be 100% sure of. I think for me the darts felt like they took less effort to throw and initially seem to fly a little straighter through the air but sometimes I would get them landing at weird angles. I honestly think its also down to me not being so comfortable with such a long set up.
I did play with them for longer after my video review and I think after more use the oak shaped ones seemed to be more accurate for me and I started getting some good results. But I still cant say whether or not I prefer something unique like these are to what I have used for years. I am sure there is some element of not being confident in trying something new and sticking to what is tried and tested, guess thats understandable really 🙂
They seem durable enough and were definitely fun to try but I really dont know who to recommend them too. So for that reason I guess its a case of if you are curious enough then you will need to try them yourself, you never know though they could be what you need 🙂
