Another review of a set from the new Shot Zen range. This is a more affordable 80% tungsten set but again made to fit with the Zen ranges theme of a more simple style of dart. Oh and they work as I hit a rare 180 on video with them too lol!
Its the kind of dart I often prefer, a front weighted torpedo style.
The grip is another neat variation of ring grip but I do like the way this one feels with the wide bands that have a thin raised ring either side, this gives a nice level of grip I think. The grooves inbetween the bands are fairly wide and deep. There is a bit less grip at front, middle and very rear though, so if you hold it there its not as nice for grip level.
Obviously being a front tapered style its chunky at the front and gradually thinner towards the rear. I prefer the chunky feel at the front personally.
Its a touch on the long side for me at 51mm but even so it felt good to throw and as a front grip the balance was very nice.
I think front and middle grippers should be fine with these and if you like a front weighted style and are a rear gripper it will be fine too but certainly will feel more front heavy depending on how far to the rear you hold it 🙂
After more play time with these darts I was starting to like them a lot and they were flying well for me, so kind of becoming a favourite I think 🙂
