This is a lovely packaged set which is following on from last years introduction of the deluxe presentation style box for Unicorns premium darts. The darts are supplied with some great extras as you can see in the video but are also fitted out with Klaasens L-Style stems and flights set up, so may some colab going on with the two brands there as the L-Style logo is also on the back of the pack 🙂

But thats a good thing if you are a Klaasen fan as it means you can use the darts with the same set up as he does and if you just like to collect such well packaged set it also makes for a great collectors item too!

Now for me over the years Klaasen has had some rather strange darts, always a bit weird but also kind of wonderful in that weird unique style. These darts are probably less weird than some of his past models but they are just as wonderful and on the whole a rather beautiful dart.

It has a kind of ringed squared scallop just before the middle and a rather unusual grip pattern cut onto the barrels which kind of looks a but like arrow heads or some sort of animal foot print? Its got a nice purpley brown coating in the grooves and the cuts which sets off the overall look very nicely and the tungsten has a nice silvery shine.

Overall the grip is around low medium to about medium with that ringed scallop part being the grippiest.

For me as a front gripper it was nice to throw but I dont think it quite suites my close to the nose style grip.

When trying the darts from that ringed scallop though it behaves a lot different. Even though its still not quite comfortable for me there as its not my natural point of grip I was getting a lot of trebles when I had a practice session and I think its just a perfect sweet spot on the dart, it feels so nicely balanced and easy to throw from there. I dont think its bad from the rear but I would say if you are a middle gripper or just happen to fall naturally into that scallop it should work very well for you, so worth a go for sure.

Of course the only issue is the price but having said that it is so nicely packaged with a good amount of extras that its almost bearable.

Nevertheless if it fits with your grip style you are going to love it!

Overall quality is very nice although a little bit of machine burring is visible up close but you have to look hard to see it.

So a very nice dart but may be one to suit specific grip styles but if you get a chance to try them out you may be very surprised at how nice it is 🙂

  1. Value rating is always the most difficult part to estimate as so many people have different budgets and feelings on what is good or bad value. I initially give it a 5 but then I thought as a whole package its probably worth closer to a 6. If it was just the darts themselves though it would like be a 2 or a 3 but then it would be very unlikely they would have the price set to what it is if it was just darts only.

  34. I have a soft spot for the Unicorns; Unicorn were my first set of darts around 30 years ago. Still carrying those darts and use occassionally. Battered but still flies. These are nice looking darts. Pattern and color remind me of an animal print at first. Interesting they come with the L-steams. I have not tried those and have been looking at getting some for a couple of weeks now.

Also wanted to say I like how your videos have evolved from when you first started reviewing, especially the side by side when testing. Appreciate you throwing from all 3 sections of the barrel. Do some darts make you want to change grip for a while?

  54. Nice review and interesting darts. I like when darts have scallops at right places. Would love to try these. Also, the way Unicorn sells these darts in a nice package is a great display. I’ve seen some Noir darts and I had to admit that the price wasn’t that high regarding all that stuff.

  77. I’ve been experimenting with a lot of different grips and barrel shapes, but these Jelle barrels look truly unique. If only we had a decent darts shop within a thousand miles here in the Midwestern United States, I’d love to try them out.

  86. What I like most about this dart is it’s grip design, simplicity and uniqueness. I find darts with agressive grips difficult to throw with any consistency, although I do experiment with different shapes, lengths, weights and grip types that I can get my hands on. The only negative I found is the price considering no complex machining was done.

  125. They’re a lovely looking set aren’t they! Always loved Jelle, one of the first players I ever saw live and he really was one of the nicest blokes around, stopped and spoke to me before his walk on and shook my hand as he went past onto the stage. His walk on song is ace and he always has interesting looking darts, these are the best looking by far, the colour scheme is great, hopefully he kicks on now, come on the Cobra!

    I think the ‘arrow head’ design is what adds to the cost of these arrows as well as accessories , but it is quite a nice design.

  209. That’s a shame most of those darts brands and models are so hard to find in Russia. I only managed to find Harrows ans Target models in Moscow, but nothing as fancy as Shot Tribal Weapon series or this Unicorn set.
    Great reviews. I’ve been watching you for a year or so by now. Helped me a lot to choose my Harrows set. Althoug I somehow liked your former style a little better. The new videos have come to look more official. Still great though. Thumbs up!

  228. As a front gripper that normally throws a viper blitz ‘US dart brand’ with a fairly long recess i think this dart would fit my grip style. My current setup the grip recess I think is to long ‘makes u unsure of where to hold’. Cheers from across the pond … Enjoy the reviews.

    These darts for me are probably the best design so far between Jelle and Unicorn. A bit on the pricey side, but that’s to be expected with the modern prices and the machining and colouring that has gone into these.

  260. Beautiful darts, nontraditional visage, one may say, it is a true piece of art. Really wonderful workmanship, decorated with subtle detail. Even though there might be a slight difficulty when it comes to solid grip. It seems that one has to get accustomed to it a little bit. Nevertheless, it would be nice to have.
