The Harrows Paragon was launched recently in Harrows 2020 range and was one of a number of models that immediately caught my eye, its a great looking darts with a unique grip style.
As the info on the Harrows site states it certainly shows the proficiency or should that be capability of the Harrows designers and machining skills. Its got a lot going on but all seems to fit together to make a dart that is a stylish and unique spin on a basic ring grip style.
At heart its a simple straight barrel ring grip shape/style but its enhanced with the introduction of Harrows new Quadcut, which is 40 diamond like cuts within the rings. To top things off though they have also coated the Quadcuts with a lovely blue titanium nitride coating and that contrasts nicely with the black titanium nitride coating on the rest of the barrel which is further contrasted by natural tungsten sections. Like I say a lot has been done with these darts to make them look good but also be effective 🙂
Getting to the grip of the dart, at first it still initially feels like an edgy ring grip but when I came to throw the darts it was surprising how much more edgy those little diamond shaped Quadcuts make it. I think it could be one of those darts that will depend also on how sensitive you are to feeling such edges but for me it felt grippy.
The grip though was not what made me like them the most though. For me as a front gripper they felt very nicely balnced, and that could be down to the fact they are drilled out a fair bit from the rear but it just felt effortless to throw. It reminds me of a slightly more grippy version of the Harrows Predator which is one of my favourite darts.
Quality if first class, the machining is neat and they were perfectly match weighted and the coating is very neatly done too with a nice deep black which is good to see 🙂
I give value 7.5 but really for a dart thats as nicely made as this it could easily have been 8 or more depending on your point of view but either way I dont think its too crazily priced in todays market for a dart with so much going for it.
Great darts!
