These are the Winmau Sicario darts which has the new Cluster Grip design. Its a torpedo style barrel and the cluster grip is on two main sections at the front and rear. The darts have the Winmau black Onyx coating and some orangey red painted grooves to provide a little extra contrast. The contrast between the natural cluster grip and the black is very striking though and gives the darts a unique look, kind of reminds me of something from a sci-fi movie.

Its a very pleasing shape to the eye too but sadly for me it just did not feel quite right with my natural front grip. I was a little surprised as I was expecting it to feel much better but I just feel the balance is not right where I hold it.

The darts do feel great to throw from the centre though, it is very nicely balanced there and flys rather smoothly through the air but there is no cluster grip in the middle, so that kind of defeats the main feature of the barrel if you are a middle gripper.

I would say its still worth a try though, you just may be super happy with it even though you are not on the cluster grip.

I think for me throwing from the rear felt slightly better than from the front even though its not my natural position so could still be worth a look for rear grippers.

I would not say if you are a front gripper it wont work for you its just it did not feel right for me but I did play with them a little longer and experimented with set up and throw style.

I found what worked best is when I hold the darts just a little up the cluster grip but still front of centre and using a short stem and a more lobbing arc of throw, they seem to suit that style quite well, so if that is how you throw then certainly give them a try.

The cluster grip has a slightly strange feel but I liked it, it kind of feels like mini scalloped squares with a slight edginess. I would like to try it on a straight barrel dart to see if it feels better with that.

Darts look great and for the most part very nicely machined, there was some slight rough edges on the cluster grip squares but guess that adds a little to the grippiness.

May be a dart that would suit middle and rear grippers best but probably one you may want to try first if possible.
