A review of the new Unicorn 2021 Code Players darts Gary Anderson darts. I have reviewed the full original Code range which had a morse code grip on the barrel spelling “unicorn” the new Unicorn Code players range have each players name in morse code machined into the grip and coated in a rainbow titanium coating.
All darts in the Unicorn Code Players range come in the very nice Unicorn Deluxe packaging and is supplied with plenty of extras as can be seen in the video. They come with the new Unicorn AR flights too in a nice Code rainbow colours which looks a bit like stained glass when you hold them up to the light, very nice 🙂
The barrels themselves are the classic Gary Anderson straight barrel ring grip except for the rear section which has the Anderson name in morse code grip.
The rainbow DNA titanium coating on the darts looks nice and colourful but its just another clothing for the Anderson darts we already know.
So for front and middle grippers the darts are the same as before and its only rear grippers that have something different. The Code grip is still around the same intensity level as the ring grip though but just has a slightly wider spaced feeling.
As such the grip does not really add to the performance of the dart just gives it a slightly different look and feel.
So overall its still a good classic design that will work well for many grip styles, but one thats got a colourful look and nice packaging but at a price.
Its really great to see a Unicorn dart that is fully made in England for the first time in over 20 years but sadly the high price may put people off, and there is not enough different from previous Anderson models to justify that really.
Quality is fine although the weight was a bit under the 23g, packaging is superbly done but you dont throw that so not sure if this is aimed more at collectors or not, even so would be nicer at around the £60 mark I think.
