These are from the Shot Pro Series and this is the Rob “Dragon” Heckman model.
Its a great looking barrel with a nice contrast black and gold titanium coating and some neatly machined grip design.
The front taper has a nice micro grip and then just about that is what Shot are calling the Dragon Scale grip. This is like a mix of convex rings with a kind of alternating scooped out squares design, easier to check the pics and videos to understand it I think lol. The rear of the barrel has a slightly different version of Shots masonary grip.
So a lot of fancy machining and great coating makes for a unique style and look of the classic straight barrel tapered dart.
As a front gripper and also as a fan of micro grip for me the darts felt great to throw from that area at the front. Of course the unique feature is the dragon scale grip so I tried it from there. I do prefer the micro grip but the dragon scale is just a little further up the barrel than where I naturally hold it so I may not have got the best impression of it. Nevertheless its an interesting feeling grip but not as grippy as the micro grip but could make for a great datum point for a quick grip reference for some.
For middle grippers its probably not worth getting unless you really love the look of the darts, certainly nothing wrong with how it may fly from the middle its just you dont have any of the unique grip there so kind of pointless.
Should be a nice one for rear grippers though, the masonary grip feels good.
The darts are very nicely designed and perfectly machined and coated to a high quality standard but it is a pricey dart.
Overall then a great looking dart with a unique grip style 🙂
