Here we are with the second generation Rob Cross darts from Target.
Its a classic straight barrel style which is of course what Rob uses like many pros and very likely came from the old Bristow darts. Its got a nice ring grip which probably has a little more edginess than it first appears, I think due to the way the grooves/rings are angled. I would say its still around medium to low medium grip level though.
There is a nice colour scheme with the whole set up with the teal and grey colours with the grey being hand sand blasted. Although the sandblasted parts are in the grooves, you still get a bit of that dry matt feeling due to the slight angle and width of the groove.
The darts are nicely finished off with the gold Swiss Diamond points.
Its a 90% tungsten barrel so slightly on the chunky side at 6.8mm thick but personally I prefer that to a thinner barrel.
When throwing the darts the grip was fine, just enough to keep control and not too little that it slips. They flew rather well with my front grip and also pretty good from middle too. Was not so great from rear grip but again it was better than I was expecting, guess only issue for rear grippers is whether you need grip and may be fall onto the smooth section there.
Overall its a nice version of the Cross darts and certainly nothing wrong it its style or performance but the straight barrel ring grip range is vast, so guess it may only be for Rob Cross fans but should work well for most grip styles.
Quality is great again from Target, although its a fairly basic style its all neatly machined and the sandblasting coating is neat but again whether you care about such coatings is up to you.
Value wise it is not that cheap but again not crazy expensive but may be a little much for a ring grip style.
