This is the Harrows Swarm from the new Harrows 2021 launch. Another great looking set with an interesting grip and front to rear tapered style, finished off with a nice electric blue titanium coating.
The grip according to the Harrows box is called a Twin Cut Sequence grip? As best I can describe it though is like a ring grip with a beveled shark style ring grip preceding each ring, so the ring kind of hides the sharp angular edge of the shark grip but the beveled part allows the ring to stand more proud to get some purchase from the fingers. Its probably best to look at the close ups to see what I mean lol!
The thing with this grip though is its fairly deceiving. If you hold the dart in the fingers it feels like a normal thin ring grip, but if you push along from rear to nose then it has more edge and bite, not in an excessive aggressive way but enough to feel more grippy,
So I guess it depends on the individual and how the darts sit in the fingers and leave when thrown, some it may feel more grippy and others less so.
Its a great dart for a front gripper like me though, balance is great but should be good for mid grippers too. I dont see any reason it cant work for a rear gripper also but guess its if its a front weighted style you feel happy with.
The dart is obviously wider at the front but tapers to around 6.6mm near the rear so I guess thickness is also a concern for some, I am happy with it though.
For me the darts were flying well and because of the way the grip is cut I think it moves over the flights of darts in the board fairly well, but at an angle I think it is likely to rough the edges of flights quick. I guess thats an issue with any grippy dart though 🙂
The coating is a nice deep shade of blue and really gives the dart a nice look overall.
Quality is first rate again and another perfectly match weighted set which is always nice to see, but its great to see Harrows have kept them at a good price too, well worth a look for front and mid grippers then 🙂
