This is a set I bought from Bully Darts just before Christmas (early December 2020), the Special Edition Ted Hankey darts from the Winmau 2021 launch. When I bought them they were the price as above but I think they may have increased a few pounds since then although some shops still have the old price?
I liked the look of these darts though when I first seen the images posted on social media by Winmau. Not sure why they have only stayed with the one weight of 24g though?
The darts are the style of Hankey darts we have known for a long time with that same distinctive nose that looks like a Trident Cone, and also the same tapered shape but this special edition has a thin ring grip and is coated with an atomised Onyx and gold in the grooves with a black painted groove in the middle. The grip is pretty much full length of the barrel and of course due to the shape its chunky at the front and thin on the rear.
Its a nice looking dart but I have to admit I was a touch disappointed when I saw them in the flesh, the images I first saw must have been CGI mock ups and the gold looked like a more shiny titanium style rather than the dull almost painted looking coating it is. Also the Onyx coating is more grey than black. Its still a good looking barrel but just not as nice as I was expecting it to be.
The grip though felt a little more grippy when throwing than I thought it was going to be but it has a nice pleasant feel and is easy to release without been slippy. I did the video with cold dry hands too and had no issues, so it was fine in that regard.
I think its a dart that could suit any grip style but for front grip it is nicely balanced and chunky but I think Hanky grips near the rear although I dont think he throws this weight of dart?
So overall a nice looking and pleasant dart to throw. Nothing too complicated and neatly machined overall but weight matching just a bit under the 24g and one barrel was a little more than 0.05g difference so just knocked a point off for that. Other than that though a good dart and value is not bad either 🙂

Actually wish a 16g version was made for general sale – I knew a set was on EBay, but it was one of only two made and I was not paying around £200 for them.
