This is the first set of Cosmo darts I have reviewed but not the first set I have ever had 🙂
Many thanks to Cosmo Darts for sending these for review and also sending the stems and flights as used by Steve West.
Look out for a chance to win these in my upcoming 20k subscriber prize draw on my youtube channel!
The darts are sold as barrels only and as you can see in the pics and video they come beautifully packaged in a very nice presentation style box. I think a lot of Japanese brands have been doing something similar for years now and its only recently that UK brands have also been making some models in a similar package, just adds a little to the overall quality but of course its at a price.
I guess its all too easy to focus on the price as they are certainly not a cheap dart and especially as its barrels only but to be fair many of the Asian brands have been expensive for a long time, it may even be normal to the darts fans there, I cant say for sure but for us in the UK its always a bane of contention.
It is what it is and for the UK market its undoubtedly difficult to justify the price but nevertheless its a very nicely made dart but nothing overly fancy to make you immediately think thats why it costs so much.
Anyway with that out of the way lets talk about the darts 🙂
I liked the look of these when I first saw them, I know its another straight barrel style but they just look good with that kind of spiralled notch grip cut into the rings.
I think Steve West is a rear gripper yet the barrels seem to fly quite well for me as a natural front gripper, I think the set up I used worked well with them too as its a fairly long dart.
I do think that grip causes a little extra spin but they fly true and as long as you dont hold the dart too heavily it releases nicely.
Overal the quality is great and its a dart that could suit any style of grip but there is quite a large smooth section so guess it depends whether that works for you or not. I know when I threw them from the rear it seemed to almost spin out towards the left but its not my natural grip and they obviously work for Steve West so dont see why they should not work well for other rear grippers, but worth a look for fronties too! 🙂

Great review as ever Darren and a really nice set of darts, I really like the look of that grip! I think price wise Cosmo seems to charge the same no mateer how intricate or plain they are, expensive but they do seem great quality.
As you mention that smooth bit will put me off these I think, if it was a little further forward I would definitely be considering them!
Thanks Dave! Its a nice feeling grip but not as aggressive as it looks 🙂
Love your new site Darren, Look forward to your reviews
Thanks, great to hear you like it! 🙂
