These are from the Target 2020 range and its another addition to the popular Carrera range this time with the unique V-Stream grip previously introduced on the Target Elysian Third Edition.
There is three models in the range and I am reviewing the V3 which is the front weighted style.
The darts are a beautiful design which is made all the nicer with that lovely blue ti coating on. The way the V-Stream grip plays with the light when you turn the barrels looks great, almost a shame to get them banged up really 🙂
I would say its typically a nice dart for a front gripper but should be great for rear grippers too if you like a front weighted style. For middle grippers it could also work but I think it means gripper over the two different types of grip so guess it depends if that suits you or not.
The V-Stream grip is surprisingly grippy for me, I was not expecting it to be so effective. I think the lateral cuts are giving it an extra edginess too. It is very likely one of those types of grips that reacts different to some though. For me its grippy but I got used to it quick enough and others it may be too grippy and still others it could be less grippy. So very much a bit of a marmite type of grip so you wont know until you try it sadly, I say sadly as its not so easy to find places to try darts now.
The rear of the barrel is a kind of ring grip with raised edges on the rings so almost like a very thin double ring grip, not as grippy as the front but still plenty for most.
Its a very well machined dart and all cuts were really neatly done, if the weight match was perfect I would have not hesitated in giving it a 10 for quality.
Of course the price is a premium for such a dart but considering the extra time taking for machining such a unique grip and the blue ti coating I dont think its as outrageous as it may have been.
Overall then a beautiful dart that is probably best for front grippers but worth a try for rear grippers too.
