Kyle Anderson was recently signed by Shot darts so they have a new range of darts and products themed around him and his Aboriginal culture. These O.G. are his signature dart.
The dart is a shape that you either like or dont like, its that bulbous spring onion style which is not one for me personally but I have had the odd dart like this which has not been too bad. These were much better to throw than I was expecting and even though I am a front gripper and balance is nice its just I can never quite get settle with my finger placement on the bulbous part.
You may be different and could be fine for you but I do believe this style often suits a mid gripper who like a front weighted bias best. The fingers just sit so much more comfortably behind the bulbous part that its just so much easier to find your position and feel settled too.
For rear grippers its one of them ones you either know you like or dont, to me its just a little too front heavy from the rear but having said that I got them flying better after a while.
What is nice about the new range though is they have incorporated the Aboriginal theme in the form of the “tracks” grip, this is a nod to Andersons Aboriginal heritage and represents the epic path Kyle walks to reach the pinnacles of the game. I cant pretend to understand all the cultural themes but I do know its a neat touch and looks good. It does not add anything extra special grip wise though as the whole barrel is around a medium level grip but its neat to see.
The theme is also continued in the packaging and the very nicely designed flights and also on the Cinder etched points.
Overall its a good dart and if you like this style then I think you may want to give it a try but for UK market its sadly a bit pricey.
Quality is superb as usual from Shot though 🙂
