Thanks to Loxley darts for sending these for review. Its another players model and this one is Heavy! Heavy Metal in fact as its Ryan Searle’s 32g monsters!!!
Been a while since I tried throwing such a heavy dart and if I am honest I have to say I was not really looking forward to trying them lol Not that there is anything wrong with the darts but with my dodgy wrist/hand and fingers been aching a lot recently I was not sure it was a good idea 🙂
But the dart although heavy has a lovely shape to it and a grip that is just about grippy enough without been too grippy, so a very pleasant grip overall. The darts did feel heavy when throwing and I doubt I could play too long without having more aches but they also feel strangely effortless to throw when throwing from the sweet spot, which I think is just slightly front of centre for me.
I did think the darts were may be dropping a little low by the time it reached the board but guess thats more down to not been used to throwing them yet, I did see some improvement after a while though but again I am wary of throwing them too long, got to look after that wrist.
I think its obviously a dart that will appeal to lovers of weighty barrels but its nice that Loxley have a slightly lighter version in the pipeline at 26g, think as its such a nice shape I may have to give that weight a try too.
It could work for all grip styles but I felt front to middle may be best, however I was very surprised at how nice it threw for me from the rear ring grip, so may be its worth a look for rear grippers too.
Its a fairly basic style of course but its one that is a players dart so its how they want it, but such a nice shape to it that I enjoyed throwing it more than I thought I was going to.
Quality is fine but of course its a little pricey for such a style like this but as I mentioned before Loxley are supporting the players with a good chunk of the profits so I really dont mind that and applaud their effort for doing so.
So overall a great dart but heavy!!! 🙂
