Thanks for Ryan Joyces brother for sending these darts for review. Bit Of Bully is a online and bricks and mortar darts store that sponsor a few players of which Ryan Joyce is one. They have a few models under their own brand name BitOfBully and this is actually the Phase 2 version of Ryans darts. Check their site to see more of their range.
The darts have a nice sleek shape kind of similar to some previous styles such the old Unicorn Lims and T90 darts. Certainly no bad thing as they were very popular. Its a mild ring grip, thin double sets of rings with narrow grooves and slightly wider grooves inbetween each double set but the grooves are fairly shallow so not an aggressive ring grip. I think it makes for a very easy to release dart but of course some people may want more grip. I usually prefer more grip myself but I had no problems with them and they were rather pleasant to throw actually.
The front is tapered and then it gets a little wider then has a very gradual taper to the rear. I think the sweet spot seems to be around just front of centre but balance with the supplied set up is a little behind that, it just feels like that is the best spot for me to throw them 🙂
They come with short stems and pear flights which is not what I normally use but seems to suit the dart well.
I think its likely going to suit mid to slightly front grippers best but could still work for some very front and rear grippers too, guess it really depends on what you feel happy with. The darts are thinner at the front and there is less grip on the very rear.
I did play them a little longer after the video and managed to hit a 180 about five throws afterwards but I do find that I have to get my grip in just the right spot to get the best from them. With my more natural very front grip I was ok but not as good as when holding a little further up.
The darts come with silver points which I should have scuffed up first as they were a little too slick for my new board and had a few drop outs, so be aware that you should rough them up to improve their stickiness to the board 🙂
Its a 95% tungsten barrel and was perfectly match weighted too which was very nice to see.
On the whole then a very nice dart and not too bad a price for 95% tungsten.
