These are the Mission Kuro darts and this is the M1 version, there is also M2 and M3 models as well as soft tip. You can find more info on the Mission darts site link above and can buy them at Darts Corner here: Mission Darts Kuro
The darts have a nice black titanium coating and I believe the word Kuro is Japanese for black. The Japanese connection is mirrored in the neat flights that have a graphic of a Samurai on and its also on the packaging, pretty cool! 🙂
Its a straight barrel dart and has what Mission call the Sabre grip on the rear. This grip is made of thin and slightly wider rings which then have a lateral scoop notched along so give a fair amount of grip. The front is a fine ring grip but has a little bit of edginess when the natural tungsten grooves are. I think the black ti coating helps a little with the grip there too but overall its close to low medium.
Its a very neat looking dart and flies nice for a front gripper like me and as it warmed to my touch it did feel a little more grippy. My only issue was the short points but thats easy to change if you need to.
For middle grippers your fingers are likely to straddle the two different grips and although it is a little different at the mid point you will still be feeling the front and rear at the same time, so just depends if that bothers you. It flew ok for me so nothing wrong with the dart in that regard.
For rear grippers its certainly more grippy and I think a very nice level of grip too.
Overall its a really nicely made dart and probably best for rear then front grippers but could possibly work well for any style, just depends on how much grip you need in the end.
Very nice quality again and value is not that cheap but then again its 95% with a black ti coating so not overly crazy either 🙂
