These are the Target Keane Dynamite Barry Gen 1 model from the latest Target launch. Barry is a young upcoming darts player and is also a two time Youth World Champion and has been on very good form of late, so its nice he is getting some recognition from a big brand like Target.
The darts are a straight barrel ring grip pixel grip but the pixels are staggered, similar to the Cross Pixel grip version.
Its a fairly long and thin barrel too and has a black titanium coating which gives it a nice contrast with the exposed pixels.
Its a bit too long for me personally but I did not have too much trouble with it and surprisingly it flew quite well from the rear for me, so should be fine for natural rear grippers.
I dont think its as grippy as some pixel version I have tried but it still has a fair amount of grip and still has that comparable feel to the little round holes of a cheese grater, just not as severe as that, just as well as you dont want your skin getting rubbed off lol!
I think because of the way the grip is front and rear grippers are going to get the best from the dart but even around the smooth band in the centre there is a little grip to be had either side, guess it just depends how much you need or dont need.
The darts are fine as an all rounder then, especially if you like long thin barrels.
Weight match was a little mixed which is the only reason I lowered the score for quality, otherwise the machining and coating is very neat.
Price however is the big issue, I know this sort of dart will no doubt take a bit more machining time but for a fairly new player the price is a bit too much.
I think that is the only real problem though, other than that its a very nice dart 🙂
